The primary purpose of this position is, through effective planning and management, to control the flow of stock through the divisional stores, monitor goods in and out, safely and efficiently move and handle items, and keep stock records.
You will be expected to plan and provide accurate information regarding items in stock and react accordingly with the authority of the Storesperson when replenishing stock; receiving and checking all deliveries and ensuring all equipment, kit, and stock are stored in the correct, safe, and compliant manner.
A key aspect of this role is to manage the approach and conduct of other employees in relation to requisitions for equipment and items to ensure requests are necessary and appropriate, supporting business and works activities.
More about the role:
* Create purchase orders and record goods inwards/outwards using available software. The position holds full responsibility for the accurate maintenance of all stock records.
* Verify stock levels for re-ordering are accurate and appropriate, providing stock reports to supervision/management on an ad-hoc basis; be prepared to do this with little or no notice.
* Take delivery of goods into stores, record and store them accurately and safely, and document properly.
* Check delivered goods for damages and correct quantities promptly. Act immediately if goods are damaged or issues are identified, advising supervision accordingly.
* Update systems to report accurate stock levels.
* Prepare equipment and materials for immediate use by field-based engineers, ensuring issues are recorded accurately for audit purposes. Maintain records of issued items to monitor trends and replacement needs.
* Plan and execute accurate and timely stock checks, seeking approval and proposing timescales and outcomes for stock checks.
* Maintain a tidy and safe stores area, identify risks, report immediately, and suggest solutions, including cost estimates.
* Manage expectations and conduct of field engineers regarding stock/equipment requests, fostering collaborative relationships while managing requests appropriately.
* Contribute to continuous service improvement, ensuring policies and procedures comply with legislation and regulations.
* Uphold confidentiality when processing personal/customer data.
* Perform other duties as required.
