Are you ready to lead critical subcontracting efforts for cutting-edge engineering projects? We're looking for an experienced Subcontract Lead to join a growing team in Rochester, Kent.
What you’ll be doing:
* Lead end-to-end subcontract management, from requirement development to selection and negotiation
* Manage documentation, reports, and subcontractor performance against key milestones
* Negotiate contracts and resolve issues, ensuring full compliance and quality delivery
* Collaborate with internal teams to maintain effective supplier interfaces
* Identify risks and manage variations to mitigate impacts
* Occasional travel to supplier sites in the UK and overseas
What you’ll bring: Essential:
* Strong background in subcontract, commercial, or project management
* Demonstrated experience negotiating complex contracts
* Proven track record of delivering major subcontract obligations
* Industry experience in complex engineering or manufacturing environments
Desirable:
* Exposure to defence or aerospace sectors
* Relevant degree or professional qualification (e.g. engineering, procurement, project management)
* Knowledge of mechanical, electro-mechanical, or optical commodities
