Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities. We work hard to enrich the lives of people with many different care needs. It’s exciting and rewarding work, and we’re full of pride and passion for what we do.
Since the early days, we’ve grown to provide many innovative and bespoke care services to thousands of people across England and Scotland. We want to provide support based on the principles of choice, dignity and respect. This resonates in our vision of ‘Your Life, Your Choice’ and our strategy ‘Best Lives Possible’.
We have strong values and we’re proud to pioneer new ways of delivering social care to stand out in our sector. In the past two years, we have won or made the shortlist for over national and regional awards! We are also focused on our people. Our Support Workers are dedicated and passionate about going ‘the extra mile’ for the people we support, and in return, we invest in pay, recognition, wellbeing, and continued professional and personal development. We will provide you with all the training, support, and personal protective equipment you need in your role and will help you develop if you choose to grow your career with us.
1. Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:
Are you a positive and motivated person who is experienced in supporting individuals within their own homes?
Are you looking to gain great experience in a satisfying job where you feel supported?
If this sounds like you, maybe a Support Worker role with an award-winning charity is the change you’ve been looking for!
At our Thurso service, we support a gentleman to live as independently as possible in his own home and are looking for a Support Worker to join our team.
In this team, you’ll support this gentleman to live the best life possible by supporting him to go swimming, go to the gym, visit the cinema, enjoy a wee dance, and go on holiday, among his many other hobbies and interests.
In this role, you can also expect to provide support with:
* Medication administration
* Cooking and home maintenance
* Personal care
* Finance management
Our shifts are from 8.30am to 8.30am the next day, with a sleepover in between. This is a preference of the individual we support, so the successful candidate must be available to work this shift pattern.
We provide support 7 days a week, so we're ideally looking for someone with some flexibility to work different days. Generally, it would be 2 on and 4 off on a rolling rota. 48-hour shift - with sleepovers and then 4 days off after.
A UK driving license is required as the person we support has a mobility vehicle.
Your values:
The people we support like to be supported by people who respect them and their homes but also like to have fun!
We like people who are reliable and honest and are able to remain calm under pressure, so they can support people effectively and build fantastic relationships.
