Key Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 5 curriculum Create a structured, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment Monitor progress and use assessment data to inform planning and interventions Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL Promote positive behaviour, independence, and a love of learning Prepare pupils academically and emotionally for Year 6 Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress Contribute to staff meetings, CPD, and whole-school initiatives Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Have experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5 Demonstrate strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and assessment frameworks Be organised, confident, and proactive Have excellent classroom management and communication skills Be reflective, adaptable, and committed to professional development Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing The school is located in Epping, with excellent transport links and a supportive local community.
