Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Southwark, London (Hybrid - 3 days office / 2 days WFH)
A well-established and growing MEP consultancy based in Southwark is looking to appoint an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to support its expanding project portfolio.
The practice delivers projects across the full RIBA Plan of Work (Stages 0-7) and works across a varied sector base including Hotels, Residential (high-end and multi-unit), Commercial offices, and mixed-use developments. With plans to grow the team by 10 people over the next two years, this is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer looking to progress toward Senior level.
The office is located just a 5-minute walk from Southwark station, within a modern building offering excellent onsite amenities, including a free-to-use gym.
The Role
As an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer, you will:
·Support and lead electrical building services design across multiple RIBA stages
·Produce calculations, technical reports, drawings and specifications
·Undertake LV distribution, lighting, small power and fire alarm design
·Coordinate closely with Mechanical, Public Health and BIM teams
·Attend design team meetings and liaise with clients and contractors
·Manage your own packages of work with support from senior engineers
This role offers strong exposure across full project lifecycles and the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility as your experience develops.
Requirements
·Experience working as an Electrical Design Engineer within a UK-based MEP consultancy
·Strong knowledge of LV building services design
·Familiarity with UK regulations and standards
·Experience working across multiple RIBA stages
·Competent in relevant design software (e.g. Amtech, Dialux/Relux, Revit, AutoCAD)
·Strong coordination and communication skills
·Ambition to progress toward Senior level
Chartership (or working towards) would be advantageous but not essential.
