Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen with a well established contractor that is the UK’s market-leading provider of site investigation services. This organisation is recognised for its strong technical capability, investment in people, and long-term career development.

As a Project Manager / Senior Geologist, you will take a leading role in the delivery of ground investigation and geotechnical services across a broad portfolio of projects. You’ll manage technically complex schemes while supporting the development of teams and contributing to continued business growth.

This role offers exposure to a wide variety of sectors, including Rail, Highways, Commercial Developments, and Energy projects, within a growing and highly collaborative team environment.

The Role

* Manage and deliver multiple ground investigation projects from award through to completion
* Take full responsibility for technical quality, financial performance, and programme delivery, including projects valued at £1m+
* Plan, supervise, and programme ground investigation works in line with relevant standards and best practice
* Work closely with the Operations Manager to develop and maintain existing client relationships and new business opportunities
* Support the training, mentoring, and development of new and existing staff
* Ensure compliance with British Standards, industry specifications, and health & safety requirements

About You

* Strong knowledge of ground investigation specifications, procedures, techniques, British Standards, and codes of practice
* Proven experience managing multiple ground investigation projects simultaneously
* Commercially aware, with a track record of managing project budgets and quality
* Confident communicator with the ability to lead teams and engage with clients

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

* 5–10 years’ experience in Project Management or a similar role
* Minimum 5 years’ hands-on ground investigation experience
* Degree qualified in a relevant discipline
* Working towards (or holding) professional chartership
