Finance Manager Location: Brighton or London Purpose Own the integrity, accuracy, and commercial clarity of Anything is Possible’s finances. Reporting to the Finance Director, this role leads month end, controls, and core financial operations while acting as a trusted partner to the wider business. It ensures the numbers are right, understood, and used to drive better decisions. Partnership with Finance Director Reports to and works closely with the Finance Director to deliver accurate reporting, strong financial control, and commercial insight across the agency. Acts as a key link between finance and operational teams, ensuring financial discipline supports growth. Responsibilities Lead the full month end process, including preparation and posting of income and cost accruals, prepayments, and reclassifications, with reconciliation of management accounts to Xero. Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts with clear commentary on performance, risks, and opportunities. Complete full balance sheet reconciliations and produce structured monthly balance sheet packs for Finance Director review. Own overhead review, including payroll, staff costs, and expenses, ensuring accuracy and budget alignment. Ensure income is recognised correctly and financial processes and controls are consistently followed. Oversee purchase and sales ledgers, with accountability for accounts receivable and payable. Manage payroll, VAT submissions, and HMRC requirements accurately and on time. Monitor cash flow and working capital, identifying issues early and proposing action. Support annual budgeting and regular forecasting cycles, providing robust variance analysis. Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, controls, and systems. Support audit processes and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Translate financial data into clear, practical insight for department leads and senior stakeholders. Skills and experience Part qualified or recently qualified ACCA or CIMA. Strong experience preparing and analysing management accounts in a commercial environment. Solid technical grounding in accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, and financial controls. Experience managing payroll, VAT, and statutory compliance. Confident partnering with non finance stakeholders, able to explain financial performance clearly. Strong analytical capability with experience in forecasting and variance analysis. Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and linked models. Highly organised, able to manage competing deadlines in a fast paced agency environment. Strong ownership mindset with attention to detail and pride in accurate delivery. Collaborative leader, capable of overseeing and supporting ledger team members. Success looks like Month end delivered on time, with accurate reporting and no surprises. Clear management accounts that inform decisions and improve accountability. Strong cost control with variances identified and addressed early. Clean, fully reconciled balance sheet with documented support. Stakeholders confident in the numbers and engaged with financial performance. Finance seen as a proactive, commercially aware function that supports agency growth.
