Some of the duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Responsible for ensuring that the maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment on board vessels managed by the Company is conducted in accordance with the policies of the Company and in compliance with Statutory, Classification Society and Shelf State requirements.
* Assist in maintaining all unit’s Classification, statutory and shelf state certification in date.
* Define and review performance standards for safety critical elements within the Company’s vessel verification schemes.
* Review and assess changes and modifications to vessel systems to ensure suitability and regulatory compliance.
* Take ownership of project work relating to the upgrading/updating of Electrical, Software, Instrumentation and Control Systems. Ensure that any such upgrades are carried out in accordance with the policies of the Company and in compliance with statutory and classification society requirements.
* Carry out fleet-wide risk assessment relating to Electrical, Software, Instrumentation and Control Systems and carry out audits on vessels and equipment suppliers as required by the Company.
* Ensure that system failures are properly investigated and root causes identified. Develop remedial actions and preventative measure where appropriate.
* Liaise with the certifying authorities regarding equipment failures, repairs and renewals.
* Review ORA’s ensuring they have appropriate and sufficient mitigations.
* Review Presight data on a daily basis and promptly address overdue or failed target items.
* Develop and monitor maintenance strategies in line with Electrical, Software, Instrumentation and Control Systems best practice & identify areas where improvements can be made.
* Direct offshore Electrical and Electronic staff to ensure that all equipment under their control is maintained and operated in a safe manner consistent with current legislation and Company Code of Safe Working Practices.
* Assist with the production of written procedures and safety, operation and maintenance and repair instructions regarding Electrical, Software, Instrumentation and Control Systems.
* Liaise with the Engineering Manager, Subsea Manager, Marine Manager, Engineering and Hydraulic Superintendents and Rig Managers to provide all departments a cost effective operation.
* Assist with the preparation of budgets, costs for surveys, audits, modifications and projects.
* Respond to all documentation, reports and other inward data regarding Electrical, Software, Instrumentation and Control Systems.
* Ensure that office staff and personnel offshore are kept up to date on experience feedback and are aware of safety and technical issues through Fleet Engineering Bulletins and Product / Safety Bulletins.
* Investigate and promote new and innovative technology through the Company's Digitalisation and Innovation initiatives to ensure Company vessels continue “Best in Class” operability.
* Responsible for the continuous development and monitoring of the Cybersecurity Management Strategy and Software Configuration Plan in relation to vessel-based control and automation systems in line with industry best practice and identify areas where improvements may be made.
* Ensure that the Software Configuration Management System is fully utilised allowing for software modifications to be tracked and viewed by appropriate stakeholders.
* Proactively ensure that electronic systems, including computers, software, networks and PLCs, are adequately protected according to industry recommendations and Company requirements.
* Assist with the preparation of obsolescence strategies and related support for electronic systems, including software and hardware components, in accordance with industry best practise and Company requirements.
* Assist the Marine department with the preparation of DP technical related documentation and Company procedures.
* Any other duties as required by the Engineering Manager.
Suitable applicants should ideally have:
* Formal engineering qualification, e.g. BEng, MSc, or equivalent.
* Suitable experience working operations and responsible for directing personnel.
* Familiarisation of Company assets/policies/capabilities with respect to design, techniques, vessel equipment and manufacturing techniques.

* Communication and time management skills.
* Attention to detail.
* Membership of a Professional Institute & working towards Incorporated/Chartered Status.
