Our Musical Theatre Department has an international reputation for excellence. As well as very popular and successful UAL courses, the department delivers high level audition preparation alongside close links to several industry professionals and companies. An enthusiastic and innovative lecturer is required to support the curriculum leader in the delivery and co-ordination of all our courses and in the ongoing creation of our cutting-edge events programme. This role is ideally suited to a professional performer, singing teacher, or musical director with experience working within musical theatre training. The successful candidate will be working with dedicated and ambitious students aged 16–19, delivering high-quality teaching and creative input across several key areas of the full-time UAL course. This exciting role will include: Delivering vocal technique sessions, including guidance on vocal health, breath control, range extension, tonal quality, and an introduction to the basic structures of the ESTILL vocal models as well as other vocal methodologies. Teaching Acting Through Song, helping students to develop emotional expression and characterisation within vocal performances for stage. Supporting students with vocal audition preparation, including sourcing a mix of appropriate repertoire and ensuring readiness for auditions with Dance and Drama Schools. Acting as Musical Director for Final Major Projects, accompanying students on piano during rehearsals, teaching harmony lines, overseeing vocal arrangements, and contributing to the overall musical direction of end-of-year musical productions and other showcases.
