Enable Hire are looking for a talented Driver/Fitter to join our team in Lingfield. This is an exciting time to join the business during a time of transition into new markets including power, battery storage, drainage and water sector led schemes in addition to our current rail offering.
Being part of an SME will enable you to gain full exposure to how a construction business operates interfacing with our Infrastructure teams, HSQE, procurement, delivery, resourcing, and other departments. Training development is bespoke, tailoring it to your own development plans.
This role will work closely with the existing yard team maintaining and preparing equipment then delivering to customers in a safe and efficient manner. They will be required to clean, test and certify equipment, load and unload vans and operate lifting equipment where required. Part of our hire fleet includes welfare vehicles and cabins; these require valeting and cleaning which would include the rear toilet compartment. This role will be closely supervised by our depot manager to gain skills relating to the hire industry and operate efficiently and safely. A smart, competent, and engaging individual is required for this role as they are both client facing and operationally critical.
Job responsibilities
* Cleaning and preparing tools, vans and plant for hire customers managing your own workload and priorities.
* Keeping workshop and yard clean and tidy.
* Carry out basic repairs on tools and equipment after necessary training.
* Keeping maintenance logs up to date.
* PAT testing electrical equipment after full training.
* The towing of welfare cabins once proficient and signed off by operations team.
* Providing a smart and efficient service to our customers representing the business while out on the ground.
* The safe and efficient delivery of tools and equipment using vans with lifting equipment where required.
Qualifications
• CPCS plant qualification or forklift operator ticket beneficial.
Technical skills
• Towing experience would be a bonus but not essential.
• Full UK Driving license up to 3.5T van with maximum if 3 points.
