About the Role
Are you passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives? This role is focused on supporting individuals to live as independently as possible and achieve the personal goals that matter most to them.
SAMH is currently recruiting for a Support Worker to join our Denny Care Home service, based in Denny. The service provides dedicated mental health support to five residents living with severe and enduring mental health conditions.
Our team is committed to helping individuals achieve their identified outcomes and maintain as much independence as possible. Support Workers assist with daily living tasks, manage and administer medication, and work closely with primary healthcare providers. The focus is on enabling each individual to lead a fulfilling life and reach their full potential.
The service promotes recovery and independent living by helping residents identify their goals and aspirations. Support Workers play a vital role in encouraging individuals to reconnect with other services such as health, addictions, education, and community activities.
Every person we support is unique. We use tailored support plans to identify individual strengths and areas where assistance is needed. We’re looking for someone with initiative, compassion, energy, and determination—someone who can inspire and motivate people to develop their confidence, skills, and independence.
Support work can be challenging at times, but you’ll go home each day knowing you truly made a difference.
What We’re Looking For
In this role, your attitude and values are just as important as your skills and experience. At SAMH, respect and dignity for the people who use our services are at the heart of everything we do.
While no specific qualifications are required to begin with, we are looking for individuals who bring the right mindset—people who are compassionate, honest, reliable, and resilient in the face of challenges. Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine commitment to supporting others are essential.
This role involves flexible working patterns, including evenings, weekends, and sleepovers, as part of a rota. Although you’ll be primarily based at our Denny Care Home, you may also be required to work across the Forth Valley area to support workforce flexibility across local services. The service operates 365 days a year, ensuring continuous support for the people who rely on us.
What we will provide for you
You will work in a supportive environment and will be provided with a full induction and training opportunities. You will be given the chance to develop your knowledge and skills, as well as develop professionally. Some of our benefits include.
* Fully funded SVQ qualification to meet the conditions of your SSSC registration (delete for non-registered roles)
* Reimbursement of PVG, Disclosure & SSSC annual fees and registration costs.
* Funded continuous learning and development opportunities, access to over 100 courses online in addition to classroom and virtual training sessions
* 30 days annual leave rising to 33 after 5 years’ service (pro rata).
* 4 public holidays
* 2 paid wellbeing days off per year to use on what matters to you (pro rata).
