Overview
Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) – 12-month fixed-term contract, in a modern Tier 2 clinic in Southport. Part of an outstanding nursing team of 14, with flexible full-time and part-time options offered.
Responsibilities
In this busy and varied role, you will embrace all aspects of veterinary nursing, including inpatient care, surgery, dentistry, radiography, nurse clinics, client communication, and supporting the smooth daily running of the practice. RVNs are encouraged to develop interests and take on responsibilities that match strengths, with many team members holding certificates in areas such as ECC, behaviour, and dermatology. You should be confident delivering excellent patient and client care, and be willing to support and mentor student nurses. An interest in running nurse clinics and developing your own area of expertise is highly encouraged.
Work Schedule
* This role can be full-time (40 hours per week) or part-time, with shifts between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM.
* Full-time nurses work a 4- or 5-day week.
* No out-of-hours.
Our nursing team is expected to work across all sites, including Rufford, Southport, Tarleton and Ormskirk.
About the Practice
We are a small animal, first-opinion practice in a rural setting with a welcoming and social team who enjoy taking part in events such as Tough Mudder and the Three Peaks Challenge. Our team ranges from recently qualified nurses to those with over 20 years of experience, creating a supportive environment for professional development.
We are well-equipped with digital x-rays, a modern ultrasound/ECG machine, multi-parameter monitoring, ultrasonic dental machine, and endoscope. As an approved training practice, we are committed to the development of the next generation of veterinary nurses and are looking for someone with clinical coach training or an interest in gaining it.

You should be passionate about delivering excellent patient and client care in a fast-paced environment, with a willingness to support and mentor student nurses. An interest in running nurse clinics and developing your own area of expertise is highly encouraged.
