At Woodside, we specialise in educating young people with an Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This is an exciting opportunity to join our expanding team and work in our wonderful school with our exceptional students and staff.
Your New Role:
We are currently looking to appoint a new SEN English Teacher to join our team at our unique outdoor setting, working with students aged 11-19 in our Leicestershire location near Loughborough. This is a full-time, permanent position.
We seek a passionate individual experienced in helping develop children in line with their academic and pastoral targets. The successful candidate will deliver group sessions in a setting designed for small groups, fostering a nurturing, homely environment that supports emotional engagement and learning.
Outdoor learning is central to our approach. The appointed teacher should advocate for outdoor education, integrating it into lessons whenever possible. Responsibilities include supporting pupils in processing new information based on a solid understanding of autism manifestations.
Experience:
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years' experience working with children and young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions and a minimum of 1 year as a qualified teacher.
Working Hours:
* Monday - Friday (08:30am-3:30pm)
* Term Time Only, 190 contact days
* 5 inset days
