About the Role
Lead a team within the Children’s with Disabilities and Family Safeguarding services in Bury, supporting our ‘Let’s Do it for Children’ vision and the Hertfordshire Family Safeguarding Model.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee a team of an Assistant Team Manager, six Social Workers (including an EHCP Social Worker) and four Family Support Workers.
* Manage and supervise children and young people who are subject to child in need and child protection planning, pre‑procedings, private law and public proceedings.
* Conduct capacity assessments and manage cases related to Deprivation of Liberty.
* Apply the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Children Act 1989 in casework.
* Facilitate a multi‑agency approach, using motivational interviewing and collaboration across social work, mental health, domestic abuse, recovery, and psychologists.
* Support staff development, training and succession planning.
Required Experience & Qualifications
* Experience working with children with disabilities and complex case management.
* Robust knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Children Act 1989.
* Leadership experience in a social work environment.
Working Hours & Conditions
37 hours per week, based on the normal business working week.
