Job Description This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions. As the Safety & Health Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role inproviding operational support in matters of industrial safety and health. Your primary focus will be to support the UKAEA's management of safety & health, focusing on supporting major projects. You will work closely with the heads of the division and their teams to drive a proactive culture. This will suit a safety & health professional who is, or working towards chartered status and willing to challenge, mentor and support senior management in matters of safety & health. Additional Responsibilities - Provide safety and health expertise to staff and contractors within the business area to ensure statutory compliance. - Support the business through monitoring and measuring safety & health performance and culture, recommending actions for improvement. - With the relevant Head of Division, conduct audits and inspections of the business areas. - To manage the S&H incident reports relevant to Divisions, ensuring appropriate actions are assigned, cause analysis is completed and there is a validation of closure. - To guideon S&H investigations, including undertaking and completing Fact Finds and attending formal inquiries. Qualifications Essential Requirements: - NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent. - Chartered Member of IOSH or working towards CMIOSH. - Experience in the safety management of Construction (Design and Management) Projects. - Excellent interpersonal skills to enable effective working relationships to be developed with people in a wide range of roles and levels of responsibility. - Experience in carrying out audits and investigations.
