Temporary Role Until End of Academic Year with Potential Extension
A welcoming school nursery setting, supported by Vara Sports and Education, is seeking a caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs within the nursery environment.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive Early Years team, helping young children feel safe, confident and able to access daily nursery activities.
You will play an important role in supporting pupils with additional needs, helping them take part in learning, play and routines within a nurturing and inclusive environment.
About the Role
* Work within a school nursery supporting pupils with additional needs
* Provide encouragement, reassurance and positive behaviour support
* Assist children in accessing learning through play and structured activities
* Support transitions, routines and daily nursery activities
* Work closely with nursery staff and teachers to support pupils effectively
* Help maintain a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment
The successful candidate will work as part of a supportive nursery team where every child is valued and supported to reach their potential.
Who We Are Looking For
We welcome applications from candidates who:
* Hold a Grade 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or similar experience
* Have experience supporting children with additional needs (desirable)
* Have a calm, patient and nurturing approach
* Are reliable and able to work well as part of a team
* Are passionate about supporting young children in their early development
Early Years qualifications are not essential for this position as the role is focused on supporting pupils with additional needs and the successful candidate will not be counted within nursery staffing ratios.

Pay: £10.00-£14.32 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 32.5 per week
