Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, We are hiring a Social Worker in our Mental Health Team.
You will be enthusiastic and passionate about changing the lives of people with care and support needs, and carers, through the promotion of wellbeing and choice, making a real difference and enabling them to increase their independence and have fulfilling lives, free from harm and abuse.
As part of an experienced team, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering our service, providing a specialist social work service to Solihull residents who require support due to having a mental health illness. We work closely with our mental health colleagues and are based in an NHS building (The Maple Leaf Centre), from which we run our own duty service.
It is a requirement of this post that you train to become an AMHP (Approved Mental Health Practitioner) if you do not already hold this qualification.
You would be joining us at an exciting time as we change the way in which we deliver our services, and we work in a more agile way. As a Social Worker in Solihull, you will benefit from manageable caseloads and an inclusive and supportive team culture with great scope for professional development.
We also offer comprehensive training with opportunities to study to be an Approved Mental Health Practitioner, a Best Interest Assessor or a Practice Educator, which provides a positive base for supervision skills. There is also the 12‑month Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) for newly qualified social workers.
Social Work England registration fees are paid for people who have completed their Social Work qualification.
