Stress Engineer – Rate to be discussed, 1 year FTC, on-site working. Location, Derby or Bristol.
Responsibilities:
* Perform detailed stress and fatigue calculations on nacelle and structural components.
* Support critical part lifting activities for components used in PW and GE systems.
* Collaborate with materials and design teams to help define and validate new materials with fatigue considerations.
* Interpret and apply FEM results and hand calculations to assess structural integrity.
* Document analysis results and provide technical recommendations.
* Participate in design reviews and provide input on stress-related design improvements.
* Transfer and adapt existing skillsets to new applications and environments.
Required experience:
* Proven experience in stress analysis within automotive, motorsport (F1), or aerospace sectors.
* Strong understanding of fatigue life prediction and material behaviour under cyclic loading.
* Familiarity with nacelle systems and non-turbo-machinery components.
* Proficiency in finite element analysis (FEA) tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus).
* Ability to perform hand calculations and validate FEA results.
* Experience with critical part lifting methodologies.
* Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
* Available for the full 1-year FTC
