Role: Trainee Art Technician Location: Unit 10 Trident Industrial Estate, Blackthorne Road, Colnbrook, Berkshire, SL3 0AX Salary: up to £35,000 per annum, depending on level of experience transferable to the role, not relating to art specifically Company : Regency Shipping Limited Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00 Regency Shipping Limited is looking for a Trainee Art Technician/Handler to join our busy Art team. The role involves learning all aspects of warehousing, storage, art handling, art packing, freight collection & deliveries and installation services for our prestigious clients. Normal working hours are 08:00-17:00, Monday to Friday, with a one hour break each day. Main Purpose of Job To learn the core skills of art handling, packing, warehousing, and installation, developing into a competent and trusted member of the technical team. This is a hands-on learning role — you will be supported to build knowledge and confidence across all areas of the operation. Essential Requirements Skills Safe manual handling of artworks and freight. Basic packing and materials knowledge — developing towards export standard. Condition reporting under supervision. Clear communication with clients and colleagues, verbal and written. Ability to follow instruction and procedure accurately. Use of core IT systems — Word, Excel, Outlook. Knowledge Understanding of why the safe handling of artworks matters — to the client, the company, and its reputation. Basic awareness of packing materials and methods to be developed over time. Awareness of health and safety responsibilities in a warehouse and on-site environment. Basic understanding of the art logistics sector and the types of clients the Group serves. Growing knowledge of London and surrounding areas (for collections and deliveries).
