About the Role We are looking for a professional and approachable Temporary Receptionist to join our team in St Andrews. This role is to cover a staff member undergoing surgery and is expected to last around 4 months. The working pattern is 4 days per week, with the rota varying weekly depending on staff holidays and business needs. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a busy, patient-facing environment. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and is confident working independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities Answering incoming calls promptly and professionally, directing enquiries to the appropriate team members Greeting patients and visitors with a warm and welcoming attitude, ensuring a positive first impression Managing appointment bookings, cancellations, and rescheduling using internal systems Handling cash and card payments, issuing receipts, and maintaining accurate records Maintaining patient records, filing documents, and ensuring confidentiality is upheld at all times Supporting general administrative tasks, such as scanning, photocopying, and data entry Monitoring stock levels of front desk supplies and requesting replenishments when needed Liaising with internal staff to coordinate schedules and ensure smooth day-to-day operations Maintaining a tidy and organised reception area, ensuring it reflects a professional environment Requirements Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role is preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing schedules Professional and friendly manner Adecco acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
