NEC Supervisor

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated NEC 3 Supervisor to support the refurbishment of a manufacturing facility in Rochester, Kent. This role involves overseeing two phases of enabling works followed by the main construction activities, with a project duration of up to 30 months. The Supervisor will be responsible for monitoring and assessing various aspects of the project, including closely observing the construction process, conducting witness testing, and ensuring compliance with the Works Information and NEC contract requirements. The role demands a proactive approach to identifying and managing defects, attending progress meetings, and issuing regular reports that document the sequence of works with supporting site photographs. The Supervisor will have the authority to instruct defect searches and is responsible for issuing the Defects Certificate at the end of the Defects Correction Period. This position requires extensive experience in civil engineering or construction supervision, with a strong understanding of NEC contracts and quality assurance processes.
Skills
Extensive experience as an NEC Supervisor or equivalent role
Strong knowledge of NEC 3 contract principles
Ability to monitor construction processes and ensure compliance with Works Information
Experience conducting witness testing and quality inspections
Defect management and reporting skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to produce detailed, timely reports with photographic evidence
Proactive problem identification and resolution
Experience working on refurbishment or manufacturing facility projects
Software/Tools
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Project reporting and documentation tools (varies by employer)
Certifications & Standards
Relevant construction or civil engineering qualifications (e.g. HNC/HND or equivalent)
Health and Safety training (e.g. SMSTS, NEBOSH) desirable
NEC contract training or accreditation preferred
