Working as part of the Human Resources department, the post holder will be the first point of contact for day-to-day HR queries and will provide advisory support and guidance to employees along with business comprehensive administrative support to the HR Manager and Head of HR.
What you will be doing
* Providing generalist advice, support, and guidance on HR-related matters in line with both policies and legislation for employees and managers.
* Managing recruitment for administration and entry-level roles across the business, including the interview and approval processes.
* Supporting the HR Administrator on a day-to-day basis, being the first point of contact for queries and escalating to the HR Manager when required.
* Carry out exit interviews across the business, providing statistical retention data as requested.
* Assist in reviewing HR policies, processes, and procedures on an ad-hoc basis as directed by the Head of HR or HR Manager, making recommendations for change or best practice where possible.
* Management of onboarding and induction process for employees, including checking proof of eligibility to work in the UK, applying for references and screening to BS7858 where required.
* Attending first-level meetings to support, advise and note take on issues including absence management and disciplinary performance or conduct matters.
* Managing short and long sickness absence records for employees, providing statistical data as requested.
* Tracking the appraisal process for employees, issuing reminders as required to ensure timely completion and reviewing the output alongside the L&D and HR Managers to support individuals where required, offering advice on appropriate progression opportunities.
* Maintaining records of new starters and leavers
* Tracking probationary periods for new starters, issuing reminders to Line Managers to carry out reviews, attending meetings when required to support and note take, issuing completion letters when completed.
* Supporting on Company projects and initiatives as well as working on department KPI`s as directed by both the HR Manager and Head of HR.
* Leading on HR filing systems, record keeping and maintain personal records in accordance with GDPR regulations in order to support annual audits.
* Ensuring up to date professional knowledge by attending relevant employment law updates, recruitment seminars and any relevant training courses on a regular basis.
* Ad-hoc statistics and data requested by Senior Management.
* Driving the business performance in relation to the organisation’s objectives.
* Collaborating with key stakeholders and proactively identify smarter ways of working.
* Deliver and develop a HR quality service and recommend changes to improve the HR service.
* Supporting the HR Manager and Head of HR on strategic project work.
* Managing staff relationships and handling HR matters reliably and in accordance with legal requirements.
* Any other duties commensurate with the post.

What we need from you

* Competent understanding of Microsoft Platforms; Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook Email
* Proficient in written and oral communication skills

o CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) or equivalent qualification.
o Familiarity with employment law and best practice HR policies.
o At least 1 year in a HR advisory position.
o Confident in advising on ER matters.
o SALARY: £31,690 per annum
