Overview
We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Sayes Court Primary School, part of Bourne Education Trust. You will provide highly effective, targeted provision and care to pupils, in support of and under the guidance of Teachers and Senior Leaders, to raise standards of achievement and help pupils become independent learners. You will support pupil welfare and inclusion in line with school and Trust policies, promoting the ethos and values of the school and Bourne Education Trust.

Position: Learning Support Assistant
Contract: Part time, fixed term contract (until 31 August 2026)
Hours: 33 hours per week (Mon-Fri 8:30am - 3:30pm, with training until 4:45pm on Tuesdays and team briefing on Fridays from 8:20am. There is also a requirement to run an after-school club until 4:15pm one day a week.)
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: Surrey Pay Scale 3 (£23,576 FTE, actual salary £17,829)

Key responsibilities
* Working as part of a team, under the direction of the responsible Teacher, support teaching provision, development and implementation of learning for pupils
* Under the guidance of the responsible Teacher, facilitate the learning of individual pupils and groups, setting high expectations and promoting positive attitudes to learning
* To understand and follow teaching plans in order to support pupil development and to scaffold learning as appropriate
* To support with the preparation of learning materials as required
Requirements
Essential
* Ability to demonstrate an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children
* GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent appropriate qualification)
* Ability to evidence effective continuous professional development
Desirable
* Relevant experience of working with children in an education setting
