Role Overview
Search is working with a well‑established and highly reputable construction company who, due to growth, is looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Leeds. Key Responsibilities
* Take full commercial responsibility and ownership for the projects
* Work closely with the Contracts Manager/Project Manager and the construction team to ensure a successful project is delivered
* Maintain relationships and maximise commercial returns while managing risk
* Liaise with and commercially influence/challenge the other members of the team and the construction process
* Take ownership for administering and representing the company in commercial & contractual issues
* Prepare tenders, analyse, select appropriate subcontractors and finalise orders, and manage finances to Final Account completion
* Prepare & agree valuations, including generating certificates & invoices/payments
* Update projected Final Accounts regularly and submit & agree Final Account in a timely manner
* Take responsibility for control of traditional contracts & contracts over €/£15m
* Manage the recording and submission of cost data
* Lead the commercial management of multiple projects concurrently
* Play a hands‑on role in pre‑construction, procurement, and contract setup
* Produce and manage CVRs, cashflows, valuations, and final accounts
* Work collaboratively with estimators throughout the tender process
* Provide clear, accurate monthly commercial reporting
* Support best practice and continuous improvement across the business
* Manage an Assistant Quantity Surveyor
* Attend scope, pre‑start, and client meetings
* Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams
* Prepare subcontractor enquiries and conduct cost comparisons
* Procure and place subcontractor orders
* Conduct subcontractor valuation analysis and payment management
* Prepare budgets, bills of quantities, and cost plans
* Manage client valuations, variations, and final accounts
* Cashflow forecasting and CVR set‑up and management
* Manage multiple projects simultaneously
