Funding Officer UKRI Talent Team Salary: £29,923.00per annum Band: UKRI Band C Team: Talent and Skills Team Contract Type: 1x Open ended and 1x Fixed Term to 31/03/27 Hours: Full-time/ Part Time (minimum 0.6 FTE) (flexible working available) Location: Polaris House, Swindon, Wiltshire - Hybrid working available Closing Date: Sunday 24th August 2025 We are recruiting two Funding Officers within the UKRI Talent and Skills team, who will support the delivery of our two pan-UKRI programmes the Future Leaders Fellowships and Cross Research Council Responsive Mode schemes. The Funding Officers will be assigned to one of these programmes to support the associate operational processes for the assessment of these schemes, including the management and co-ordination of the administrative workloads within this team. These roles contribute to UKRIs priorities in maintaining the UKs position as a global leader in R&D by attracting, retaining, and developing talented people and funding excellent interdisciplinary research. Key responsibilities Delivering the peer review of applications received to FLF or CRCRM programmes ensuring that applications are reviewed objectively, fairly and in a timely manner Processing of applications through the UKRI Funding Service through all stages from application submission through to awarding and post award management Identifying and managing conflicts Preparing materials and managing logistics for panel meetings Attending and supporting panel meetings Processing applications following on from funding decisions, communicating notifications and feedback to applicants Task managing the Funding Administrators, providing support, training, coordinating tasks and having oversight of activities and workloads Liaising with a wide range of people, both internally and externally, managing queries and providing clear responses using scheme guidance. Supporting the evaluation (CRCRM only) Carrying out any other duties/ projects that may be required of the post across UKRI Talent and Skills. Personal Specification A-level qualifications or demonstrable equivalent experience Excellent teamwork skills, proactively supporting colleagues Excellent communication skills, with experience of establishing and maintaining good working relationships with stakeholders Demonstrable problem-solving skills, with the ability to contribute to ongoing process improvements within the team Excellent organisational skills, with good attention to detail Ability to proactively and independently manage and prioritise workloads, adapting to changing and conflicting priorities Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Excel, Word Experience of collecting, managing and maintaining large volumes of sensitive data, including an understanding of regulations and good practice pertaining to this Able to demonstrate resilience with an ability to stay calm under pressure Experience of task management and/or staff supervision Benefits We recognise and value our employees as individuals and aim to provide a favourable pay and rewards package!
