Job Description:
As we move into AMP 8 and continue with our growth plans across the UK & Ireland, we're interested in hearing expressions of interest from Consultants seeking their next career opportunity in the coming weeks and months.
Stantec UK seeks a highly experienced geoarchaeologist at Senior or Principal level for any UK office, with a preference for Reading. The role involves providing technical advice, conducting field investigations with colleagues, delivering and assuring complex reports, focusing on water, highways, and infrastructure projects.
This is an opportunity to join a global firm in sustainable engineering, architecture, and environmental consultancy. You will work within multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions for clients and communities, providing high-quality archaeological and geoarchaeological consultancy for projects of varying scales, collaborating with the wider team to identify risks and opportunities.
Responsibilities include advising on risk, research, and schemes requiring planning consent, EIA, or DCO. You will prepare technical documents such as Desk-Based Assessments, Evaluation Reports, and Environmental Impact Assessments, review data sets and literature, conduct site visits, and liaise with authorities and stakeholders to develop evaluation and mitigation strategies. You will oversee archaeological fieldwork and coordinate paleoenvironmental assessments.
About You
You should be highly motivated, with a passion for UK archaeological science, and knowledgeable about legislation, policies, and guidance. You should have consultancy experience, excellent report writing skills, and preferably GIS experience. Fieldwork experience in geoarchaeology, membership of CIfA at Associate level or above, and a full UK driver’s license are required.
