We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Band 4 Macmillan Information Support Worker to join our team at the Tunbridge Wells Hospital Macmillan Hub.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Band 4 Information Support Worker based at the Macmillan Centre in Maidstone to provide essential support to patients and their families. You will also oversee volunteers at the Tunbridge Wells Hub, ensuring smooth and effective service delivery.
As part of this role you will be required to provide cross cover of service and work at Maidstone site

Main duties of the job
Although primarily based at Tunbridge Wells, you may occasionally be required to work across sites to cover staff shortages or sickness. We operate a Monday to Friday service but are open to flexible working patterns, as long as service needs are met.

Qulaifications
Essential criteria
5. GCSE English Language and Mathematics (Grade A-C) or equivalent
6. NVQ4 or NVQ3 plus additional training to diploma level equivalent, or equivalent through short courses
Desirable criteria
7. Evidence of continued role development
8. Willingness to undertake Macmillan learning and development courses
Experience/ Knowledge
Essential criteria
9. Relevant health or social care experience at Agenda for change Band 3 or equivalent
10. Experience of multi-professional working
11. Experience in the use of data entry and management
12. Evidence of good communication skills both face to face and on the telephone
13. Understanding of person centred care
Desirable criteria
14. Understanding of Macmillan Cancer Support and its role across the UK
15. Experience in coordinating a designated workload
16. Awareness of Improving Outcomes : A Strategy for Cancer and other national cancer policies
