The Role
We are seeking an experienced Hygiene Manager to oversee the hygiene operations at our Fraserburgh facility, which produces both high-risk and high-care seafood products. This pivotal role involves managing a team of 25 hygiene operatives, primarily working night shifts, to ensure the factory meets stringent hygiene and safety standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and continuously improving hygiene practices across the site, with flexibility in working hours to meet business needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in food manufacturing hygiene, particularly in high-risk environments, to make a significant impact.
Note: This role would be predominantly working nightshift.
The Ideal Candidate
* Proven experience in hygiene management within a food manufacturing environment, preferably seafood or other high-risk categories.
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing nightshift teams.
* In-depth knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, and hygiene regulations.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing business needs.

Your Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the hygiene team, ensuring effective performance and development.
* Oversee all hygiene activities across the site, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards, including retail customer audits
* Develop and implement hygiene schedules and procedures tailored to high-risk and high-care production areas.
* Monitor and audit hygiene practices, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
* Collaborate with production, technical, and engineering teams to maintain food safety standards.
* Ensure all hygiene operatives are trained and competent in their roles.
* Manage hygiene-related documentation and reporting for audits and inspections.
* Respond to hygiene-related incidents and lead investigations where necessary.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives in hygiene processes and culture.
