Health & Safety Advisor
About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and knowledgeable Health & Safety Advisor to join our team in a newly created role. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact by supporting health and safety across multiple project sites, helping us maintain the highest standards of safety throughout our UK operations.
Based from our Melksham office with frequent travel to sites, you will play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture, ensuring safe working practices, and supporting continuous improvement across the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct regular health & safety audits across UK sites and produce clear, actionable reports
* Support the development, implementation, and review of H&S policies, procedures, and risk assessments
* Deliver health & safety training sessions and toolbox talks to employees and managers
* Stay up to date with UK legislation and industry best practice, advising the business on required changes
* Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, carrying out root-cause analysis and recommending corrective actions
* Maintain accurate H&S records, including training logs, audit reports, incident data, and compliance documentation
* Support site teams in developing safe systems of work, method statements, and risk assessments
* Assist with contractor management processes and site inductions
* Promote a strong safety culture through engagement, communication, and visible leadership
* Provide day-to-day health & safety advice to managers and employees
* Support the H&S Manager with strategic initiatives and continuous improvement projects
About You
* Proven experience in a health & safety role, ideally within a multi-site or operational environment
* NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum required); NEBOSH Diploma or working towards it is desirable
* Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and compliance requirements
* Confident in conducting audits, investigations, and delivering training
* Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage at all levels
* Good IT literacy, including MS Office
* Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and accurate record keeping
* Willing and able to travel across the UK as required
* Proactive, pragmatic, and able to build strong working relationships
* Holds UK SC Clearance or is eligible to obtain SC Clearance
* Full, clean UK driving licence
