Overview
Join a small team delivering community liver health checks and liver cancer surveillance across Lancashire and South Cumbria (L&S C) Operational Delivery Network. The post holder will support clinical teams in four provider trusts and partner organisations, liaise with primary care, and contribute to NHSE liver surveillance data collection.
Responsibilities
* Provide care for patients requiring community liver health checks and liver cancer surveillance.
* Support clinical teams at East Lancashire Hospital, Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, Lancashire Teaching Hospitals and University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay.
* Assist partner organisations (drug and alcohol services, hostels, prisons, etc.) to deliver high‑quality care.
* Coordinate with primary care as part of the national pilot for case finding.
* Act as a positive role model for staff, patients, families and carers.
* Co‑operate with the ODN delivery group and providers to deliver highest standards of care.
* Contribute to data collection for NHSE liver surveillance and the community liver health check pilot.
* Monitor and support patients in line with clinical protocols and guidelines.
Essential Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with a current NMC registration.
* Significant post‑registration nursing experience.
* Evidence of proactive mentorship and development of nurses and nursing practice.
* Experience working with hard‑to‑reach patient groups (eg hepatitis, liver disorders).
Desirable Qualifications
* Post‑basic qualification or experience in hepatology or drug and alcohol settings.
* Non‑medical prescriber registration.
Additional Information
Full training and support will be provided. You will work across four hospital provider trusts and numerous third‑party organisations, gaining experience in a variety of settings including clinical vans, hostels, prisons and community services. This is a developmental opportunity for a Band 5 nurse and may involve secondment or further development.

Salary is based on full‑time hours and will be pro‑rated for part‑time roles. The vacancy may close before the advertised date if sufficient applications are received; early application is advised.
