Legal Operations Engineer / Specialist (Interim, Remote)
We are working with a leading global organisation seeking a Legal Operations Engineer / Specialist to join on an initial short-term project, with the potential for extension.
This is a hands-on role focused on building, implementing and optimising legal operations systems and workflows across the business.

The Role
You will play a central role in designing and implementing a scalable legal operations infrastructure, with a particular focus on legal intake, contract management and risk workflows.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the implementation and optimisation of a legal intake platform to act as the central hub for legal, privacy and compliance work
- Driving integration with a contract lifecycle management system, including defining system ownership and ensuring seamless data flow
- Building and implementing workflows covering privacy intake, DPIA/LIA triggers, approvals, escalations and reporting
- Designing and embedding processes for general legal queries and business stakeholder engagement
- Integrating legal operations systems with wider tools including Gmail, Slack, Airtable, Jira, CRM and privacy platforms
- Establishing connections with other systems (e.g. ServiceNow) to capture and centralise compliance-related data
- Supporting the rollout of risk assessment processes for new initiatives and procurement activities
- Defining workflow ownership, routing logic, approval matrices and SLAs
You will also take a lead role in:
- Designing the legal data and reporting architecture, including dashboards and executive-level reporting
- Building a single source of truth across legal, privacy and compliance activity
- Operationalising privacy risk management workflows, including tracking, remediation and reporting
- Developing regulatory compliance workflows, including obligation tracking, impact assessments and readiness reporting
Requirements
- Strong experience in Legal Operations within fast-paced, global environments
- Proven track record of implementing and configuring legal tech tools (particularly intake and CLM platforms)
- Hands-on technical capability – this role requires someone who can build and configure systems, not just manage projects
- Experience integrating systems and designing end-to-end workflows across multiple platforms
- Strong understanding of privacy, risk and compliance processes
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to translate business needs into scalable solutions
