Overview
This is a 12 month fixed term senior clinical research fellow post in Metabolic Medicine at MN37 grade. The post has the potential to be extended 12 months at a time on a rolling basis subject to performance.
Main duties and responsibilities
Successful candidates will join enthusiastic and dynamic research teams comprising of clinicians, residents and research specialist nurses with ongoing projects in the department of Metabolic medicine. They will be expected to take part in recruitment and data collection for ongoing departmental research studies and will also be involved in the expansion of commercial trial work.
All work undertaken for services within a flexible working week will not be in excess of the 48 hour/week EWTD regulations. Candidates must be GCP trained. The fellow will provide clinical cover for any research studies pertaining to their subspecialty that involve the patient clinical trial journey via the CRF, covering both University Hospital Wales and Llandough sites and non-metabolic medicine patients at Llandough. The fellow will be automatically part of the Research Fellow Programme in Cardiff & Vale and will be supported to attend departmental teaching and training sessions.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Training – Essential
* At least 1 year experience in a recognised UK NHS training post
* Full GMC Registration with License to Practice
* MBBS or Equivalent
* Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certificate

* MRCP Part 1/ 2
* FRCA part 1
* MRCGP

Ability – Essential
* Commitment to team approach and multidisciplinary working
