As the company continues to grow, they are looking to strengthen their commercial team by appointing an experienced Quantity Surveyor. Role Overview
As Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for all aspects of commercial management across multiple projects, from early-stage procurement through to final account close-out. This includes preparing commercial reports, managing contracts, supporting risk mitigation, and ensuring project profitability.
Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will play a vital role in the effective financial oversight of high-value precast façade schemes and will work collaboratively with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to maintain cost control, contractual compliance, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all commercial functions from pre-contract to final account.
* Prepare budgets, cost plans, and commercial reports for both internal and external review.
* Administer subcontract agreements, valuations, and payments in line with contractual obligations.
* Provide contractual advice to project teams, including the interpretation of contract terms.
* Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
* Conduct cost analysis and ensure alignment with project budgets and forecasts.
* Maintain accurate records and ensure commercial data is documented and reportable.
* Liaise with supply chain partners to manage contract terms, performance, and payments.
* Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and 3D models to quantify and analyse works.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including the Construction Contracts Act.
About You
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role within construction or specialist subcontracting.
* In-depth understanding of various construction contracts and commercial frameworks.
* Strong analytical skills with experience in cost control, reporting, and procurement.
* Capable of interpreting technical documentation including drawings, specifications, and BIM models.
* Confident communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments.
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and commercial reporting tools.
Qualifications
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a relevant discipline.
* Chartered or working towards professional membership with RICS, CIOB, or equivalent (preferred).
* Knowledge of the Construction Contracts Act and associated legal frameworks.
