Associate Headteacher - SEN School — Birmingham. Salary: up to £60,000.
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs? We are seeking an experienced and dynamic school leader to take on the role of Associate Headteacher within an independent SEN school supporting pupils aged 11–19 with autism and related learning needs.
About the School
The school supports pupils across two sites, providing a safe and ambitious learning environment with both academic and vocational pathways. Their mission is to ensure every young person leaves prepared for further education, employment, and adulthood.
The successful candidate will
* Lead the day-to-day management of the school, deputising for the Executive Headteacher where required.
* Drive school improvement, ensuring compliance with Independent School Standards and the Ofsted framework.
* Take full responsibility for safeguarding, behaviour, attendance, and pupil welfare.
* Support staff development, HR processes, and performance management.
* Promote inclusion and high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour across the school.
* Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies.
About You
* Proven track record of leadership and school improvement.
* Experience in a similar specialist school setting.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding, SEND Code of Practice, and Keeping Children Safe in Education.
* Excellent knowledge of behaviour management and curriculum planning.
* Experience in managing and developing staff teams.
* Currently working as a senior leader, ready to step into the next stage of your career.
* QTS or equivalent.
