THE ROLE

The Finance Assistant will support the Finance Team in a variety of administrative and accountancy tasks.


Management Structure

The Finance Assistant will report to the Operations Director.


Location

The Finance Assistant will work in an administrative role predominantly from Storrington and Pulborough but may require time spent at other AVG locations as required. Own car and a valid driving licence are essential due to the location of our sites.


RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Role requirements:

* Provide general administrative support to the Finance Team.
* Process invoices and assist with bookkeeping tasks.
* Maintain and update spreadsheets, trackers, and financial records.
* Perform basic data analysis and reporting.
* Support ad hoc finance and administrative projects as required.

Preferred candidate requirements:

* Proven administration experience required.
* Have good IT skills using MS 365 packages including Excel, Work, Outlook, and also Googlesheets/spreadsheets.
* Accountancy background preferred although not essential, advantage to those with experience using finance/accounting system software such as Xero, Lightyear, or similar.
* Has a valid driving licence and own car due to location and if required between locations.
* Flexible on the preferred working pattern but our ideal days/hours would be: Mon/Wed/Fri.


SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS


Experience

* Administratively competent, effective, and process driven.
* Business operational experience is advantageous but not essential.
* Must be self‑motivated, organised, and logical, with good attention to detail, and personable.
* Must have good attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Consistently demonstrates professionalism, ethics, and integrity reflective of the Group’s vision and values.
* Has a proactive mindset and demonstrates initiative.
* Manages time efficiently and prioritises effectively.
* Confident, ambitious, enthusiastic, and self‑motivated.
* Thrives in a fast‑paced environment by learning quickly and having the flexibility to adapt.
* Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
* Works with confidential information in a trustworthy manner, with discretion and diplomacy.

Must share and demonstrate the values of AVG: humility, respect, empathy, work ethic, honesty, communication, and teamwork.
