Fleet Driver / Workshop assistant – Fleet Operations
Location – Cumbria (Cumbria Ambulance Station, Workington, CA14 4PW)
Working pattern – Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week average.
Shift pattern – 365 days per year, rotating shift with an additional 12.5% basic salary uplift.
Pay – £24,937 to £26,598 per annum (AFC Band 3).
Role responsibilities
The Fleet Driver / Workshop assistant provides logistical support for NWAS vehicle movement around the Trust to meet workshop requirements. Key duties include:
* Transport and movement of fleet vehicles within workshop and depot areas, ensuring vehicle safety and compliance with driving legislation.
* Daily operational support at fleet workshops, including vehicle decommissioning, decal removal, general workshop assistance and associated cleaning duties.
* Effective personal time management and planning to maximise vehicle throughput and minimise workshop delays.
* Collaboration with workshop teams to support vehicle preparation, maintenance and decommissioning activities.

Qualifications
Essential:
* GCSE grades 4–9 in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
* Full UK driving licence with Category C1 entitlement.
* Drivers CPC qualification.
* Strong knowledge of driving legislation and vehicle equipment SOPs.
* Good geographical knowledge relevant to NWAS operational areas.
Experience
Essential:
* Experience working in transport, logistics, fleet or motor industry.
* Experience with Microsoft 365 applications.
