I am currently recruiting for the position of Multi Skilled Engineer with Electrical Bias in Perth on a static site. The position is Night-shift 7pm to 7am, more details below. This is a permanent position with salary ranging between £43,000 and £50,000 per annum, plus company benefits.
Although your primary expertise should be in electrical work, this is a hands-on, multi-disciplinary role. As the main technical presence on-site overnight, you'll need to be flexible and ready to handle any maintenance tasks that come up- whether they are electrical, mechanical, or general facilities-related.
Shift Pattern & Flexibility
Coverage: The role requires 7-day-a-week coverage shared between two engineers.
The Rota: You and your counterpart will have the autonomy to decide your own 28-day rota (e.g., 4 on/4 off, 3 on/4 off, etc.), provided full coverage is maintained.
Induction Period: Please note that for the first 3 months, you will be required to work the Day Shift. This is essential to gain full site familiarity, understand our systems, and meet the wider team before transitioning to nights.
Main Duties:
Electrical Duties (Core Specialist)
Perform electrical installations and maintenance in strict compliance with BS 7671 (18th Edition) standards.
Conduct testing, fault diagnosis, repairs, and update maintenance work orders as needed.
Multi-Skilled & General Maintenance
Maintain a "site-first" mindset: be ready to take on any task required, regardless of discipline.
Support other trades with tasks such as wiring, calibration, alignment, and general repairs.
Carry out mechanical repairs, building fabric fixes, or plumbing checks as needed.
Ensure excellent housekeeping standards throughout the facility.
Operational & Safety
Operate independently as the technical lead during the night shift, making sound decisions without direct supervision.
Participate actively in toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Raise safety concerns confidently and professionally.
What we are looking for:
Qualifications:
Essential: BS 7671 (18th Edition) qualification in Electrical Installations.
Desirable: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
Experience & Skills:
True Multi-Skilled Approach: Although you are a qualified electrician, you are equally comfortable supporting wider site operations and undertaking mechanical or general maintenance tasks as required.
System Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical systems, plant machinery, and controls.
Technical Literacy: Ability to interpret and follow technical drawings, schematics, and standard operating procedures.
Autonomy: Self-motivated, well-organized, and disciplined enough to manage the responsibilities of working night shifts effectively.
