We are looking for a Senior Claims Handler to join our market leading team. The team works with large self-insured corporates in a specialist division, CIR. The team has a progressive approach, with a market leading reputation for tackling claims; tracking trends and analysing behaviours with a view to providing our clients bespoke claims strategies and analysis of changing market behaviours.

What you will do
To provide a timely, professional and high-quality service to clients in the management of volume pre-litigation cases in our motor department.
Successful candidates will:
* Negotiate claims for liability and damages on pre-litigation cases within authority limits
* Act as a point of contact for clients, demonstrating a level of knowledge and skill commensurate with experience
* Maintain and develop technical knowledge through attendance of training sessions and reading appropriate publications
* Ensure strategies reflect commercial reality of case value
* Comply with internal and external service level agreements
* Record timely and accurate management information
* Hit individual financial targets (set based on work type, charging basis and experience)
* Mentor less experienced claims handlers when required
* Work with Leadership Group to support team performance and ensure delivery on client requirements
* Support marketing and business development activity within the team (e.g. attending marketing events, client training, clinics and shadowing days)
* Maintain awareness of the firm’s strategies and plans
* Handle confidential information in line with the firm’s data security protocols
Who you are
You will have previous experience and knowledge of handling motor cases, experience of dealing with personal injury (OIC and MOJ Portals) as well as credit hire cases.
* IT skills - IT literate with a good working knowledge of Excel and Word
* Prioritisation & Organisation skills – able to manage own time, recognise time pressure vs. importance, and know when to ask for help
* Ability to work and thrive under pressure
* Analytical skills – ability to critically review factual evidence, identify issues and inconsistencies
* Commercial sense – understanding legal principles and applying commercial judgement on whether a claim is economical to defend
* Interpersonal skills – able to work with a team, speak to customers on the telephone and meet clients
* Strong focus on providing a consistent high level of customer service
* Resilience – ability to stand ground in telephone negotiations and receive feedback
* Aptitude to learn – retain knowledge and apply new skills
* Good oral and written communication skills
* Strong negotiation skills and excellent telephone skills
