Key Duties/Responsibilities
* Responsibility for planned and preventative maintenance of PPM's where possible.
* Resolve machine breakdowns to ensure maximum line efficiency of the production process.
* To assist in maintaining the engineering stores by identifying parts, raising parts requisition forms for repairs and stock replenishment while ensuring stores booking in and out procedures are being adhered to.
* Complete all engineering work to a high level of engineering, quality, safety, and hygiene standards.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
* Formal engineering qualification to at least City and Guilds level, ONC/HNC level or equivalent or extensive experience working as an engineer in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong electrical or mechanical maintenance background with well-developed analytical fault-finding skills.
* Knowledge and experience of food processing equipment and the maintenance of modern processing plant machinery would be preferred but not essential.
* The ability to use electrical test equipment, read schematic diagrams with experience in single and 3 phase installations including motors, inverters, and PLCs are desirable but not essential.
* Thrive on working in a fast paced, high pressured environment with a passion for delivering results and the drive to exceed expectations.
* Excellent attention to detail, decision making and problem-solving skills with a sense of priority for deadlines.
* Good understanding of English (written, verbal and reading).
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a professional approach and attitude.
Hours of Work
* Normal contractual hours of work are 48 hours. If you are contracted to 48 hours per week you will work an eight-day shift pattern, working four consecutive shifts of 12 hours per day, followed by four consecutive days off. Your hours may rotate on a fortnightly basis between dayshift and nightshift
