A well-regarded and forward-thinking law firm in Somerset is seeking an experienced Legal Executive or Solicitor to join its Private Client team, with a particular focus on probate work. The Role
Based in the firm’s Bridgwater office, the successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of private client matters, with an emphasis on probate. The role will involve handling files independently while working alongside an experienced and collaborative team.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing a caseload including Probate, Wills, and Lasting Powers of Attorney
* Handling both straightforward and complex estate matters, including taxable and non-taxable estates
* Drafting legal documents and correspondence
* Maintaining strong client relationships and delivering a high level of client care
* Using case management systems and technology effectively
* Supporting the continued development of the department where appropriate
The Candidate
The firm is keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:
* Experience in a Private Client fee earning role
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Excellent communication and client-facing abilities
* The ability to manage their own caseload with minimal supervision
* Confidence in handling complex matters efficiently
Experience in trusts and Court of Protection work would be advantageous but is not essential.
Professional accreditations such as Solicitors for the Elderly or STEP membership would be beneficial, although the firm is committed to ongoing training and professional development.
Candidates should be proactive, commercially aware, and comfortable undertaking much of their own administrative work, with support available where needed.
Additional Requirements
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (due to occasional travel between offices across Somerset and Dorset)
