Overview
HSQE Advisor role at Country Dreams Radio & Gaming. Location: Tonbridge (Kent). Job Type: Permanent, full-time. Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 per annum, depending upon experience plus on call bonus.
At Lanes Group, the health, safety and well-being of our people and our customers are priorities. This role is part of our expansion on a major contract with Southern Water, aimed at ensuring staff carry out their work safely and without harming themselves or the public.
Responsibilities
* Guiding and supporting the HSQE Trainee.
* Carry out risk assessments and identify how risks could be reduced.
* Outline safe operational procedures which identify and take into account all relevant hazards.
* Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented.
* Ensure working practices are safe and comply with legislation.
* Prepare health and safety strategies and develop internal policy.
* Lead in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks.
* Record findings from inspections to produce reports that suggest improvements.
* Record incidents and accidents to produce statistics for managers.
* Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and developments affecting the industry.
* Attend IOSH seminars and read professional journals.
* Produce management reports, newsletters and bulletins.
* Ensure equipment is installed safely.
* Manage and organise the safe disposal of hazardous substances, e.g. asbestos.
* Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases.
What We Are Looking For
* Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.
* NEBOSH General Certificate (or working towards).
* ideally Level 3 Award in Teaching and Education or equivalent; NEBOSH bolt-on courses are desirable.
* Competent safety professional who understands regulations and risk management, and can build trust, engage workers, and embed safety into the culture.
