Court Usher - Southampton

We are recruiting for a Court Usher to support the smooth running of court hearings in Southampton. This is a vital public-facing role where you'll be the first point of contact for court users, ensuring hearings are well-organised and run efficiently.
The Role
* Welcoming and supporting members of the public, legal representatives, and court users.
* Preparing and clearing courtrooms for hearings.
* Escorting participants and calling people into court in the correct order.
* Handling administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, post handling, and updating records.
* Supporting the judiciary and court staff with documents, forms, and clerical work.
* Providing information to court users and dealing with enquiries in a professional and sensitive manner.
What We're Looking For
* Strong communication and people skills, with the ability to stay professional under pressure.
* Comfortable working with people from all backgrounds, including vulnerable individuals.
* Basic IT and administration skills.
* Previous public service or customer-facing experience is desirable.

* Location: Southampton (must be fully on-site. On-site parking can be arranged).
* Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week), temporary ongoing (initially 3 months, with likely extension).
* Pay: £12.21 per hour.
* Clearance: The Court Usher role requires an enhanced disclosure check.
