Are you someone who can guide students through the process of writing their dissertations? Do you have previous experience of providing dissertation supervision combined with demonstrable experience in <b>Business and Tourism Management</b> and working with adult learners from diverse backgrounds? You will join the teaching teams and support the research project module.</p><p>You will be allocated up to 20 project students and you will be required to provide 10 hours of supervision plus marking time per student supervised.</p><p><b>Salary:</b>£250 per student in all locations. This includes supervisory time, formative feedback, 1st marking and 2nd marking as well as ad-hoc meetings.</p><p><b>Department:</b> Academic/Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) partnership</p><p><b>Location:</b> London (West and East), Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds - (On-Site)</p><h3>What Youll Be Doing</h3><h3>Academic Supervision</h3><ul><li>Support students in defining and refining their research questions and objectives.</li><li>Advise on appropriate research methodologies and ethical considerations.</li><li>Guide students in conducting literature reviews and sourcing relevant materials.</li><li>Provide structured feedback on dissertation drafts and monitor progress.</li><li>Ensure dissertations meet required academic, institutional and PSRB standards.</li></ul><h3>Student Support</h3><ul><li>Maintain regular contact with assigned students through scheduled supervision meetings.</li><li>Encourage independent thinking and scholarly development.</li><li>Identify and address academic or personal challenges that may be affecting progress.</li><li>Promote inclusive and supportive learning environments.</li></ul><h3>About You</h3><ul><li>Qualified to at least a Masters Level degree in a related discipline area.</li><li>Demonstrable experience in academic research and dissertation supervision.</li><li>Experience of working in Higher Education.</li><li>Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methodology.</li><li>Knowledge of statistical programmes and secondary data analysis.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills.</li><li>Knowledge of research ethics, methodologies, and academic writing conventions.</li><li>Understanding of, and passion for, both higher education and working with a diverse student body, especially mature students from a widening participation background.</li><li>Willing to work occasional weekends and evenings, and travel to our various campuses.</li><li>Good IT skills working on all Microsoft packages.</li></ul><h3>Desirable</h3><ul><li>External examiner experience.</li><li>Relevant industry related experience.</li></ul></div>
