This is a full-time post, working 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday. You will be working with a dedicated team, children, and families from the local area.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the manager in managing the setting to ensure high-quality childcare, effective teamwork, and positive relationships with children and families.
* Be aware of and contribute to the management of day-to-day financial operations, meeting financial targets, and maximizing occupancy.
* Manage a staff team effectively, supporting their development and performance.
* Assist in setting and monitoring goals and targets for the setting.
* Monitor and assess the quality of provision, ensuring policies, procedures, and standards are maintained.
Areas of Responsibility
Operational Responsibilities
* Ensure compliance with registration and legislative requirements, including Ofsted standards and the Early Years Foundation Stage.
* Uphold high standards of care and implement the company's Equality and Inclusion policy.
* Monitor safeguarding issues and follow local authority and company procedures.
* Prepare the setting for Ofsted inspections and address any recommendations.
Individual Accountability
* Take responsibility for the setting in the manager’s absence.
* Support setting development plans and quality assurance frameworks.
* Communicate effectively with staff and maintain professionalism.
* Maintain staff and child ratios, confidentiality, and manage workload effectively.
* Identify and address staff practice issues and contribute to setting development and vision.
Personnel
* Assist in staffing and recruitment processes, ensuring compliance with policies and legislation.
* Support staff induction, performance management, and record-keeping.
* Address staff performance issues with appropriate action plans.
* Foster effective team relationships and communication.
