Job Summary
We'd like to hear from you if you are passionate about playing a critical part in keeping the Port running smoothly.
You will coordinate and manage external contractors to undertake inspections, compliance testing and planned maintenance on a wide range of engineering assets, e.g. high mast lighting, berth drive systems, barriers, welding and lifting equipment, fenders, overhead gantry cranes, and some larger routine tasks e.g. cliff de-scaling.
You will plan and manage work orders for contractors to undertake remedial work on defects identified during inspections.
Arrange site visits, raise permits, review RAMS and oversee contractors on site to ensure works are completed to the required safety and quality/compliance standards.
Track the progress of work orders to completion using scheduling software, within the required timeframes. File test certificates and inspection reports as required.
Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to agree the timing of inspections and maintenance works.
Skills and Qualifications
* Minimum NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent), A-Level or T-Level in a technical, trade discipline or related subject.
* At least 1 year's experience of working in one or more technical discipline: civil, mechanical, or electrical, surveys, inspections, or maintenance planning.
* Relevant health & safety certificate e.g IOSH, SMSTS. SSSTS or similar (desirable)
* Have an understanding of Risk Management and compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental standards
* Experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel and ability to use scheduling tools and filing documentation would be advantageous.
* Knowledge of confined spaces, marine working and procedures (desirable)
* Flexible approach and can demonstrate a high standard of collaborative team working with others.
* Hold a valid UK driving licence and use of own vehicle

Salary: IRO £34k
