Job Description:
This is an excellent opportunity to join our dynamic dietetic team, which provides clinical dietetic services across a range of specialist areas for both children and adults in the community and acute settings throughout Fife. We maintain strong collaborative links with Pharmacy, Prescribing, and Health Promotion Teams.
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Dietitian with excellent clinical, organisational, communication, digital, and people skills to work within the Eating Disorders Advanced Intervention Team (EDAIT). This role involves delivering comprehensive dietetic services to adults with eating disorders, working within the community-based multidisciplinary EDAIT team based in Cardenden. The post requires close liaison with members of the EDAIT.
The post is managed within the Mental Health and Learning Disabilities (MH and LD) team, which comprises nine Dietitians providing services across various specialist multidisciplinary teams including CAHMS, Community Mental Health, and Learning Disabilities. Key clinical areas include dietary assessments, review of patients’ nutritional status, and support for patients requiring artificial nutrition, oral nutritional supplementation, weight management, physical health, and texture modification.
You will be supported by the Clinical Lead Dietitian for the MH and LD team, as well as your peers within the team and across the department.
The Nutrition & Clinical Dietetic Service is a Fife-wide service with a leadership structure around clinical teams such as Acute, Weight Management & Diabetes, Mental Health & Learning Disabilities, Nutritional Support, Older People, Infant Nutrition, and CYP & Paediatrics. Fife has a Non-Prescribing Ordering Model for Oral Nutritional Supplements and enteral feeds, utilizing dietetic-led models of care and non-medical prescribing Dietitians.
The Dietetic Service provides undergraduate and graduate Dietetic student training for A, B, & C placements each year. All staff participate in delivering and organizing these programs. New graduates will have opportunities for rotation across teams as part of their ongoing development. The department offers regular postgraduate training and supports staff in continuing professional development. It also benefits from good administration, IT support, social media, and online resources.
Registered with HCPC, you will have the skills, competencies, and experience appropriate for the role. Induction and training will be provided to facilitate your transition into the position.
