We’re working with a friendly and inclusive secondary school in the Caldicot area to recruit a Pupil Support Mentor.
The school offers a warm, welcoming environment and has a fantastic, well‑supported Learning Resource Base for pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN). This provides a nurturing setting where students receive tailored support, and staff work closely together to help every child feel confident and achieve their potential.

What You’ll Be Doing:
* Supporting both students and teachers within the classroom environment, while also supporting the schools Additional Learning Needs (ALN) provision
* Helping pupils stay engaged and confident in their learning
* Building positive relationships with students and staff
* Assisting with individual or small group support where needed
* The ability to implement strategies to manage and de-escalate behaviour effectively
* Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and encouraging school environment

What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for individuals who can demonstrate transferable skills and experience at interview – it’s your attitude and potential that matter most.
We’re Looking for People Who may:
* Have previous experience working with children
* Come from a background in coaching, mentoring, youth work, care work, or similar fields
* Hold relevant teaching or education qualifications (desirable but not essential)
* Are positive, patient, and proactive in their approach
* Are eager to learn and develop within a school environment
* Are passionate about supporting young people across a wide range of ages and abilities

* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
(or willingness to obtain — we can support with this)
* Level 2 Safeguarding Training
* Two professional references covering the last 24 months of employment
