Join Vestas as an Appointed Person for Lifting Operations and play a key role in managing complex lifting activities across onshore projects in Northern and Central Europe. You’ll ensure safe and efficient lifting operations, prepare detailed plans, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders and clients to ensure compliance with industry standards and QHSE requirements. Region NCE and Global Offshore > Customer Project Execution, NCE > Installation Project Managers

The NCE Installation Management consists of the Installation Project Managers and the Appointed Persons for Lifting operations. The department is responsible for ensuring a high-quality customer experience when completing projects for our customers, ensuring an efficient and save execution of our Offshore and Onshore Projects.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure full compliance with local regulations for complex lifting activities on site and act as the project team’s subject matter expert
2. Managing the Safe System of Work (SSoW) for all lifting operations and coordinating tasks across all involved parties
3. Preparing and reviewing project‑specific lifting plans and rigging drawings, maintaining overall control and accountability for all lifting activities
4. Representing Vestas in internal and external meetings related to lifting operations, including client and subcontractor discussions
5. Supporting competency assessments for relevant staff and technicians, and delivering required inductions
6. Interpreting and clarifying legislation, regulations, and industry standards related to basic, intermediate, and complex lifting duties
7. Implementing and regularly reviewing the SSoW to ensure it remains effective, compliant, and aligned with best practice

Qualifications

8. Minimum 5 years’ experience in lifting operations and 2 years in planning lifting activities
9. IOSH Leading Safely or NEBOSH certification
10. CPCS Blue Card – Appointed Person (Lifting Operations)
11. Level 5 NVQ (or equivalent) in Lifting Operations
12. Strong knowledge of local legislation and regulatory requirements for all lifting duties
13. Understanding of BS1 standards for the safe use of cranes
14. Knowledge of maintenance, inspection, testing, and thorough examination requirements for lifting equipment and accessories

Competencies

15. Solid awareness of Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Quality (QA/QC) standards
16. Motivated, forward-thinking, and solution-oriented with proficient analytical skills
17. High-level collaboration with team members, proficient communication skills, and fluency in English, both spoken and written
18. Ability to deliver training sessions in classroom or group settings
19. Customer-focused, results-driven, and skilled in process understanding and delegation
20. Effective office and site management by meeting specific local needs
21. Demonstrates leadership with a focus on continuous improvement and problem-solving

Additional information

Primary location: Warrington, UK, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.

Expected travel for this role: up to days per year.
