Family Practitioner | 9869 | Secondment Opportunity / Temporary Fixed Term Contract for 12 Months | 37 hours per week | £34,434 to £36,363 per annum | Grade H | County Hall
If you have experience of working with children and families and have a passion for supporting them in effecting sustained change, then we would like to hear from you. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Family Help Practitioner to work in the Family Help Team covering the South Norwich area. The office base is at County Hall. We are looking for an experienced practitioner who can manage a complex caseload of Family Help cases. We will be able to offer you a friendly and supportive working environment where learning and development are promoted through the support of an experienced management group.
Our purpose in Family Help is to keep children and young people safe through early intervention to prevent the need for statutory involvement. We do this working alongside the family, their network and other professionals naming and addressing worries, creating plans which identify the support needed to achieve positive outcomes and empower the family to effect change.
Responsibilities
* Take a lead in managing a complex caseload of Family Help cases.
* Contribute to keeping children and young people safe through early intervention to prevent statutory involvement.
* Work with families, their networks and other professionals to name and address worries, create plans, identify required support, and empower families to effect change.
* Operate in a fast-paced environment; prioritise, adapt practice, use initiative and manage workload to support the wider team.
* Identify and understand risk and keep this under review throughout the case, with the child at the centre of our work.
* Demonstrate resilience and maintain composure when under pressure.
* Demonstrate good IT skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel and databases, and communicate effectively at all levels.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience of working with children and families with a passion for supporting them in effecting sustained change.
* Ability to manage a high/complex caseload in a Family Help setting.
* High level of resilience; flexible, able to use initiative and adapt to changing circumstances.
* Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, databases) and effective communication at all levels.
