Superintendent Pharmacist - Outpatient Pharmacy

As a member of the Outpatients pharmacy team, you will contribute to the provision of a range of pharmaceutical services; issuing prescriptions, giving advice where appropriate, working alongside Outpatient Pharmacy team to ensure all pharmacy duties are carried out in accordance with legal and relevant clinical guidelines, in addition to the departmental procedures to meet the needs of our customers.
The Superintendent pharmacist is responsible for the oversight and management of the service, therefore strong professional leadership, delegation and decision-making skills, as well as line management of junior staff will form core components of the role.
Main duties of the job
o Work closely with the Outpatient multi-disciplinary teams and Trust services with effective pharmaceutical care and intervention when required for patients, specifically with regards to medicines supply and management.
o Accountable for performance management and responsible for monitoring key quality/performance indicators, service pressures and recommending/implementing actions to address them.
o To fulfil all legal and regulatory requirements required by the GPhC, MHRA, DHSC and Trust priorities.
o Lead, develop, deliver and evaluate the outpatient pharmacy service.
o Oversee the day-to-day management of designated staff in the Outpatient pharmacy team. Responsible for staff supervision, managing attendance and performance, identifying and facilitating training opportunities for the staff to maximise service delivery.
o Accountable for cost-effective stock asset management, ensuring all staff uphold responsible medicines management practices.
o Responsible for ensuring a safe working environment adhering to all Health and Safety requirements (i.e. COSHH, Fire regulations etc.)
o Responding to patient feedback and queries as needed.
o Acting as the Responsible Pharmacist for the service as required.

Person Specification
* M.Pharm or equivalent
* Post graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent/ working towards
* Management training
Experience
* NHS management experience including experience of managing staff, workload and monitoring quality
* Advanced communication skills, including the ability to liaise and negotiate effectively at all levels
* Project Management
* Full UK driving license and access to a car

* Registered with the GPHC
